AI & PM: Beyond Feature Integration

The product world is buzzing with AI, and rightfully so. From enhancing existing features to powering entirely new capabilities, AI is rapidly reshaping our products. But as Product Managers, are we truly leveraging its full potential, or are we just scratching the surface, treating AI as another feature to integrate?

The real inflection point isn’t just about adding AI; it’s about understanding its fundamental capabilities and limitations to redefine user problems and unlock unprecedented value. This means moving past a checklist approach to AI implementation and diving deep into how AI can fundamentally shift user behavior, create new markets, or solve old problems in entirely new ways. It requires a mindset shift from merely asking “how can we use AI to do X?” to “how can AI help us rethink X altogether?” This deeper comprehension empowers us to build truly AI-driven products, not just products with AI features, fostering stronger product-market fit and more impactful cross-functional collaboration.

How are you, as a PM, deepening your understanding of AI’s core principles to drive more profound product innovation rather than just feature integration?
