We’re seeing an unprecedented rush to integrate AI into every conceivable product. It’s exciting, challenging, and frankly, a bit overwhelming. But as product managers, our role remains constant: delivering value to our users.
The real challenge isn’t just if we can add AI, but why and how we can do so in a way that genuinely solves user problems and enhances their experience. Are we integrating AI because it’s genuinely the best solution, or simply because it’s trending? Adding an AI feature without a clear understanding of its user benefit often leads to feature bloat, confusing interfaces, and ultimately, user churn.
Effective product-market fit with AI isn’t about throwing algorithms at a wall to see what sticks. It demands deep user research to identify unmet needs that AI is uniquely positioned to address. It requires careful consideration of the user journey, ensuring AI complements, rather than complicates, the existing experience. Our cross-functional collaboration with engineering and design is more critical than ever to ensure these powerful capabilities are translated into intuitive, valuable product features.
