AI: Your New Co-Pilot or Your Replacement?

We’ve all seen the deluge of articles about AI features in our products. But the more interesting conversation is about AI’s role in the PM workflow itself. We’re moving past AI as a backlog item and into the era of AI as a PM’s co-pilot.

Think about the hours we spend summarizing user interviews, churning through analytics dashboards to find a nugget of insight, or drafting the first version of a PRD. A new wave of tools is emerging that can automate much of this tactical work. This isn’t about replacing the product manager; it’s about augmenting our capabilities. By offloading the repetitive tasks, we free up critical time for what truly matters: deep strategic thinking, talking to more customers, and complex cross-functional problem-solving.

In an environment demanding leaner teams and faster results, leveraging AI is quickly becoming a key differentiator between a good PM and a great one. The core job isn’t going away, but the way we execute it is fundamentally changing.

So, here’s my question for you all: What’s one part of your PM workflow you’d gladly hand over to an AI assistant, and what high-impact strategic work would you focus on instead?
